It Ain’t Fair!
No, it ain’t fair, it just ain’t fair!
I had not aimed to be here, yet.
But here I am in Heaven,
Way before 12-year-olds are supposed to be,
Tho I see lots of kids my age here with me.
My name is Brandon Jacob, while
Most of you know me as B J.
‘Twas a freak accident, happening so fast
The details, I really couldn’t say
We were just headed to the park to play.
Mom and Dad, Sister and Brothers,
School Mates and Friends,
Now is the time to take care of each other.
Losing your kid, sis, bro or buddy is just out of sync.
Yet, now we all know it happens in a wink.
Don’t stay angry too long,
Cry as you must, but I’m really okay.
You’re going to love this cool place some day!
I was scared for a moment, but
When God greeted me, I was surprised to see
Tears streaking His loving face.
In His tender, warm arms I feel so safe.
Grampa Bob and Peter Ray came to
Greet me this very first day!
Along with Grandma and Grandpa Hellwig
And great-grandparents, I never knew!
They all tell me how much they love you.
Of course, I will miss earth’s promise of future
Baseball, school, just hangin’ out,
Beating Grama Donna at ping-pong,
And so much more. The list could be long.
Love yourself and care for others.
I’m asking you for some special help.
For me, please share your smiles,
Hugs and kisses with those you meet.
While it ain’t fair, we’ll all be okay!
